Turn your ATV off and disconnect the stator cable. Turn the multimeter to ohms. Connect the meter’s leads in pairs to the stator’s pin connector plugs – pin 1 and 2, pin 2 and 3, pin 3 and 1. For each combination, note the reading you get, and compare it with the correct reading as shown in the manual.
Testing Your Stator. So, here is how to test your stator: First, disconnect the stator connector on the left side of the bike. There are three wires. Oct 14, 2009 · That stator is completely different then most of the ones we see. What you have is a 3 phase stator. You should be able to measure about 0.6 to 0.7 ohms between any 2 of those wires in 3 different combination's. Your sled will covert all it's power to DC voltage, where most of the others sleds run off AC voltage.
